Roblox Discord servers: how to find safe, active communities

How to find Roblox Discord servers worth joining: fan, group and developer communities, Robux and trading scams to avoid, and safety tips for younger players.

5 min read

Roblox Discord servers are where players find people to play with, follow updates for their favorite experiences, trade, and learn to build games of their own. They are also a favorite target for scammers, because many Roblox players are young and Robux and limited items have real value. This guide covers the main kinds of Roblox communities, how to tell a good one from a risky one, and how to find servers on TopGuilds.

Types of Roblox Discord servers

Official communities of an experience

Many popular Roblox experiences have a Discord run by their developers or their group. You get update logs, codes, bug reports, events and a place to meet other players. The safest way to find one is the link the developers publish themselves, for example on the experience page or the group page.

Roblox groups

Groups such as clans, roleplay organizations and fan clubs often use Discord to organize sessions, ranks and trainings. A good group server explains how ranks work and who decides them.

Fan and hangout servers

Servers where people talk about Roblox in general, share outfits, look for teammates and play together. They are great for finding friends, and the quality depends almost entirely on moderation.

Developer communities

Communities for people who build in Roblox Studio: scripting help, building and UI feedback, showcases, sometimes team-ups for new projects. They are often the most helpful corner of Roblox Discord, and a great place to learn.

Trading servers

Servers focused on trading limited items or in-game items. This is where most scams happen, so read the safety section below before you trade anything.

What a good Roblox Discord server has

  • Clear rules that cover scams, trading, harassment and personal information, and a moderator team that enforces them.
  • An explanation of what the server is about: one experience, one group, building, or general hangout.
  • Visible, active staff and a way to report problems, like a ticket or report channel.
  • Age-appropriate content. Roblox has a young audience, and a good server keeps chat friendly for that.
  • A rule that staff never DM first asking for accounts, Robux or personal info. Many good servers pin this in their rules.
  • Real activity. Look at how many members are online and scroll the chat. If you want to find people to play with, an active LFG (looking for group) channel is a good sign.

Robux and trading scams to know

Scams in Roblox communities repeat the same tricks. Once you know them, they are easy to spot.

  • "Free Robux" offers. Websites, bots or people promising free Robux in exchange for logging in, completing "verification" or downloading something. There is no secret way to get free Robux; these exist to steal accounts.
  • Requests for your password or a login code. No real staff member, trader or developer needs your Roblox password or the code from your email or phone. Never share them, even with a friend.
  • "Paste this into your browser" tricks. Someone asks you to copy text from your browser, run a script, or send them a file to "fix" something or get an item. This can give them control of your account.
  • Fake middlemen. In trades, a "trusted middleman" offers to hold the items. Often the middleman is the scammer, or an impersonator of a real staff member with a lookalike name.
  • Trades that move off-platform. "Send me Robux first and I'll give you the item later" or payments outside Roblox mean you have no protection when it goes wrong.
  • Fake game links. Links to a lookalike Roblox login page or a copy of a popular experience. Check the address before you log in anywhere.
  • Pressure and urgency. "This deal ends in five minutes" or "you'll be banned unless you do this now" are classic scam lines.

If something feels off, stop, leave the conversation and tell a moderator. For more on general Discord scams, read our Discord safety guide.

Safety tips for younger players (and parents)

Discord has its own minimum age, which is 13 in many countries and higher in some, even though Roblox itself can be played by younger kids. Check the rules where you live before joining.

  • Turn on two-factor authentication on both your Roblox and Discord accounts.
  • Limit DMs from server members. Discord's privacy settings let you turn off direct messages from people in a server. Most scams start in DMs, not in public channels.
  • Never share personal details: your real name, school, address, phone number or photos.
  • Don't move to other apps because someone you just met asks you to.
  • Tell a trusted adult if someone makes you uncomfortable, asks for pictures or offers gifts in exchange for something.
  • Block and report. You never have to argue with a scammer.

Parents can find tools and guides for families in the Discord Safety Center. It also helps to ask your child which servers they are in and what happens there, the same way you would ask about an after-school club.

How to find Roblox servers on TopGuilds

TopGuilds is a free Discord server directory where every listing is reviewed by a moderator before it goes public, and public listings must follow the listing guidelines.

  1. Start on the Roblox Discord servers page.
  2. Narrow it down by language, or check the LFG tag if you mainly want teammates.
  3. Use the mood filters: Busy right now for servers with people online, Small & cozy for a friendlier group, New this week for fresh communities.
  4. Look for the Verified active badge. It means the server runs the free BotGG bot, which reports real activity.
  5. Read the description and rules before joining, and leave if the server does not match what its listing promised.

Our guide on how to find Discord servers has a full checklist for judging a server before you join.

Run a Roblox community?

If you run a server for your experience, group or dev team, you can list it on TopGuilds for free. You need at least 10 members and a permanent invite, and no bot is required. A clear description, honest tags and visible rules help the right players find you. For ideas on moderation and safety settings, see BotGG's guide to Discord anti-raid protection.
